The Month of March: An Overview

Wow, March was a crazy good month!! I can’t believe that I was able to make four figures in only my fourth month!

Things have started to get a bit more stressful the closer I get to my wedding (in June), as it’s a lot to juggle a full-time job, a super busy side-hustle and plan a wedding at the same time. But only two more months of this craziness and then I can relax a bit!

A few highlights:

  • I reached my goal of making over $1,000 in one month
  • I hired a part-time team member to help with my virtual assistant tasks
  • I switched over to Wave instead of using Paypal invoices + spreadsheets to get the job done
  • Thanks to someone posting about my free Color Course on Facebook, I almost doubled my email subscribers
  • I also almost doubled my Twitter followers as well!

How I Did on My March Goals

Eh. The goals I made for March didn’t go so well. But I actually think that’s a good thing! I did a lot of business soul-searching during March and realized that what I love doing is working with people one-on-one. Maybe in the future I will get sick of “trading hours for money,” but right now it’s truly what I love.

So, no, you probably won’t see me launching any courses or participating in any webinars — at least, for now — and that’s okay with me! That’s not a business model that I currently enjoy. So I’m just going to be the odd one out over here, doing what I love and still making a pretty decent chunk of change from it.

My Goals for April

  • Get more/better sleep
  • Increase my part-time team member’s hours so that I can take on more projects
  • Send out at least 5 newsletters

      Hi Dawn! Yes I do, haha. It probably sounds a bit confusing, let me explain — I actually run a team of virtual assistants. When you hire me as a virtual assistant, you are hiring my team. I am in charge of each project and do about 70% of the work. But a lot of my time is taken up with the design aspects of my job, since that is my speciality, so I have two other team members who take care of other tasks for my clients, like social media scheduling, that I simply don’t have time to do. I also use my team to do the behind-the-scenes stuff for my business as well. They take care of all of the social media scheduling for Miranda Nahmias, plus a few other things as well.

      You can compare this to hiring a construction company to complete a big project on your house. You hire a company, and the boss or project manager takes care of most of the work, but also uses employees or other independent contractors to help him out.

  1. I love your transparency here! Are these LTD page views or monthly page views? I think it’s totally fine to stay in your lane as far as webinars and ecourses and such. I am just like that as well [at least for now]. It’s important to do what you love without forcing it b/c everyone else is doing it! This is inspiring! Keep pushing! Xo

      I agree! I mean...what I am doing is definitely working and I am continuing to grow. Why mess with success? haha. I definitely want to try and do more passive income stuff in the future, but right now I love working 1:1 too much to change course.

  2. Hi! I found your post from the Blog Anarchy FB group. I know you didn’t ask me, so please disregard this if it’s unwelcome advice. But on your “services” page, I would love it if you had some samples (or even just 1) of the services you offer that involve a product – like the e-book, branding, or etc. I am a visual person. I can’t say I’d ever need someone to do that for me but if you showed a few picture samples and it blew me away and made me think “I can figure a lot of things out but I could never do THAT,” I might consider it. I’m just offering this as a suggestion, just trying to help. Congrats on the income and the upcoming wedding.

    Also – one more thing – I’m confused about how to get back to your blog from your main page. I clicked all your menus and couldn’t get back to this post once I started looking on the About and Services pages. Maybe I’m just dense and it’s right in front of my face. Maybe you could put a “blog” link somewhere, if it’s not already so obvious that I missed it. 😉 Highly possible. I need more coffee. Bless!
